QUOTE OF THE MONTH: Submitted By Joan Kacir
A man’s character may be learned from the adjectives which he habitually uses in conversation. Mark Twain

| Recipe of the Month |
RECIPE OF THE MONTH:
-
6 cups loosely packed, torn mixed greens (about 9 oz.)
-
6 hard cooked eggs, chopped
-
2 small or 1 medium zucchini, cut into julienne strips (about 2 to 2 1/2 cups)
-
1 cup thinly sliced onion (about 1 medium)
-
2 tablespoons cooking oil
-
2/3 cup red wine vinegar
-
1 1/2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
-
1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning, crushed
-
1 teaspoon sugar
-
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 large tomato, wedged (about 7 to 8 oz.)
|
|
|
Tear greens into large bowl. Add eggs. Set aside. In 10-inch skillet or large saucepan over medium heat, cook zucchini and onion in hot oil, stirring occassionally, until crisp-tender, about 4 to 5 minutes. In small bowl, stir together vinegar, mustard, seasoning, sugar, and garlic powder. Pour over vegetables in skillet. Stir in tomato and cook until heated through, about 1 minute more. Pour over mixed greens. Gently toss until evenly coated with dressing. Serve immediately.

MAY PROGRAM RECAP:
It was all about Weddings!!!! The Troy Marriott was kind enough to allow us the use of one of their dynamic ballrooms. With multi-levels, windows and extraordinary personnel the theme couldn’t help but POP!
Betsy from Chair Covers and Linens donated the MAGIC BALLOON sheer overlays with different bright and spring color underlays. The chairs were covered in white spandex and had chair bands accented in lime green, sherbet orange and lemon yellow.
To help enhance the amazing linens Jerome from Blumz by JR Designs custom created centerpieces to top it off. Each table had a different centerpiece to help showcase brides varying preferences.
The menu consisted of fruit, cheeses, assorted breads, Caesar salads on the rocks, carving stations, petite fours stations and an apple crisp and ice cream float dessert station.
Several NACE members teamed up to demo their amazing products or services. These vendors included A1 Video Professionals, Blumz by JR Designs, Riggan Photographic Creations, President Tuxedo, Champagne Chocolate, Brides.com, The Lighting Guy, Video Magic Productions, Vivano Flower Shop and Life’s Big Events.
To top off the evening, Kate Kozak (a former bride) displayed her speaking skills by presenting the process of planning a wedding with Karen Vazquez from Pearls of Wisdom. She went over elements of concern, the ease a wedding planner can bring to the planning process, the worst things that could happen, her expectations and of course....the outcome! Thanks Kate for broadening our wedding horizons and by doing so from the other perspective. |
