| NACE 50th Anniversary Party
Tuesday June 3rd 2008
It was an exciting night as our Detroit NACE celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the NACE Association 1950’s style. The event was held on Tuesday June 3rd at The Reserve in Birmingham. Laura Davis Events volunteered to coordinate this memorable occasion for our membership.
Guests were greeted in the lobby by fellow NACE members and industry partners dressed up in 1950’s theme outfits. There were poodle skirts and members dressed as Greasers and Pink Ladies, combined with classic music from the era supplied by Mike Staff Productions. There was 1950’s trivia and the winner won vintage candy prizes put together by The Royal Park Hotel. Many guests supported the chapter by participating in the 50/50 raffle.
The Reserve’s in house pink and blue lighting helped set the ambiance of the event. As well as the additional lighting by NACE member The Lighting Guy. Crystal Balloon Designs Robin Bosma supplied creative balloon décor incorporating shapes such as the historic fountain sundae into a balloon work of art. Chair Covers & Linens supplied the linens for the evening. The tables were covered in shear white linen that allowed the pink and blue lights to shine through from beneath the tables. Colonial Party & Event Rental supplied furry black and white sofas, and coffee tables and rugs in the lounge area to fit with the theme. The beautiful floral arrangements on the table were supplied by Viviano’s Flower Shop.
The food for the evening was supplied by The Reserve and it was 50’s diner style cuisine to fit in perfect with the event. Everyone loved the macaroni and cheese, mini sliders, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, fries, and the passed jumbo onion rings, deviled eggs, mini peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, all just like mom and dad used to make! Then there was cake, a festive pink Cadillac shaped cake done by Fleur de Lis Bake Shoppe that added the perfect touch.
There was a lot of excitement as Epic Motion’s Ryan Koral created a video montage of the event while interviewing members who gave their best wishes to the NACE Association celebrating 50 years! Ryan gathered everyone in attendance together for a Detroit NACE group "shout-out".
It was a great event, Happy 50th Anniversary NACE, here is to another 50 years of rockin’ around the clock!
